Kaniakapupu Ruins

On January 19, 2013, we trekked through a bamboo forest to visit Kaniakapupu in Nuuanu Valley.  Kaniakapupu was the former summer place of Kamehameha III.  A broken down shell of what was once the site of lavish entertainment is all that's left of the only remaining structure associated with Kamehameha.

On this night, several musicians and singers serenaded us with compositions to entice other "guests" to the ruins.

This could be a dust orb, but it was such a coincidence that it appeared as soon as the violinist starting playing his piece.

Another orb rises above the ruins as flute music is being played.

My sister, Jill Okita captured this orb while the violin was being played. She would normally dismiss this type of light anomaly as a raindrop, but on the night of our visit it was bone dry.
