Pu'u o Mahuka Heiau

An unsuspecting winding road in Pupukea leads to Pu'u o Mahuka Heiau, which is the largest heiau on the island of Oahu. Darkness barred our view of this expansive site but our other senses clued us in on how immense and powerful this place was.

As we gathered around this massive stone, we were told a story about how this rock may have played a role in an infamous murder case.  A shadowy mist seems to be lingering around the area.

This photograph is marred by some orb looking water drops that came to rest on my camera lens.  The shadowy mist is still visible to the right of the rock.  Again, precaution was taken to assure that neither the lens or flash was obsured by my fingers.
